You just said, "yes," but what comes next? Wedding planning and decision making is exciting, but can often be overwhelming to say the least.
So, today we're sharing the WeddingWire's Vendor Booking Timeline to help give bride-to-be's a better idea of what comes first. Plus we're rounding up a few of our own tips for the wedding planning process.
1. Don't stress over having all of details figured out prior to locking in the vendors.
It is important to book vendors that you trust, seem to have a connection with, and reflect the style you are looking for. Many design details (such as what flowers are going to go in my bouquet, or what sides should I offer with blackberry chicken) can be figured out at a later time.
Explore the market for what you are looking for in each vendor, and get the vendor that you loved locked in first. Then let the vendor help you figure out the details when needed.
2. Make you sure you read all contracts in full & with thorough detail.
3. Be flexible.
4. Get to know your venue.
5. Look ahead at your personal calendar.
Maybe you're still in school, and the idea that you have to get the XYZ done in the next 6 weeks is too much. Or you're going to be out of town all summer at other weddings so you won't be available to do tastings and fittings. Be prepared by looking ahead and seeing where it will comfortably fit into your lifestyle (without leaving you stressed that you're running out of time) and plan ahead accordingly.
